During his tenure, President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration launched the National Housing Scheme with the goal of providing affordable housing for Nigerians, particularly those in urban areas. The scheme aimed to address the growing housing deficit, improve access to homeownership, and promote economic development. Jos North, as part of Plateau State, has faced challenges related to the high cost of housing, population growth, and inadequate housing infrastructure.

Jonathan’s housing scheme was designed to offer low-cost homes to Nigerians, particularly targeting middle- and low-income earners.
